LA SUPREMA
FICTION
Laureana is an Afro-Colombian teenager who lives in La Suprema, a town in the Colombian Caribbean erased from the country’s maps, where electricity has not yet arrived.
When she finds out that her uncle Anastasio Páez will fight for the world boxing title and the event will be broadcast live on television, she tries to convince Efraín, Páez’s former trainer, to train her to box professionally. The biggest obstacle to her intentions is her grandmother, Pabla, who, with the excuse of wanting to protect her, tries to impose her will.
Motivated by Laureana and her friends Carmelo and Ramón, the community will come together against all odds to bring electricity and a television to the main square to watch the fight. In the end, the events are just a trigger to understand that their real fight is against oblivion.

Felipe Holguín Caro
Colombian writer and director, co-founder of Cumbia Films. In 2012 he was Directing Fellow of the Project: Involve of Film Independent in Los Angeles. He received awards at different festivals for his short films Mañana (2009), La Suerte Del Salao (2017) and La Cachera (2019). Casting Director and Associate Producer of El Piedra (2019), a film pre-selected by Colombia for the Oscar and Goya awards. La Suprema (2023), his debut feature, won the Coral Post award in La Habana, premiered at TIFF and won the Silver Colón Audience Award at the Huelva Film Festival.
