SYNOPSIS

BOJAYÁ: Caught in the Crossfire’ follows the story of Leyner Palacios, a community leader and Nobel peace prize nominee, who lost 32 relatives in one bombing. The 2002 Bojayá massacre remains one of the worst mass atrocities in Colombia’s 50 year-long conflict. The victims’ bodies were never properly identified, and the survivors were left in limbo as to the whereabouts of their loved ones. As a result, Leyner decided to become a lawyer to fight for his people’s rights. Through capturing Leyner’s obstacle-filled quest, a fascinating perspective emerges on the difficulties of creating peace.
